About the Author
Dorey Whittaker lives in central Virginia with her husband, Bruce, and they have been married for forty-seven years. They reared two daughters, enjoy their four grandchildren, and have partnered together in lay ministries for over forty years. Accidently poisoned by arsenic at age three, Dorey was left practically deaf until age twelve and illiterate until age sixteen. She knows the struggle to forgive those who have caused so much damage to her life; and the pure joy and blessing that comes when you finally surrender your rights to hold onto feeling of justifiable revenge. She learned that forgiveness is a gift you give to yourself. She knows how it feels to face tremendous obstacles, shame, and ridicule for being one of the many “left behind” children. She was told, "Just get over it and move on." Dorey knew how broken she was. She also knew that God was her only hope. What once was her greatest shame, has now become one of her greatest victories. We all must decide our life path. Either accept the label of victim, with all its excuses readily at hand, or choose to follow God on His path to real self-worth. Dorey shines a light on God's path to living a victorious life.

Hope's Return .... Dorothy Whittaker
Hope's impression of her birth mother was skewed with the reality of
a murder, the trial, the unknown and a seriously broken relationship.
Lisa's dilemma was the same but different. In her heart she experiences
the unconditional forgiveness from God, Who knows all, but having to wait
for the forgiveness of others who think they know all; it's very painful.
Healing in many ways is needed but could it be, would it be?

Finding Hope in the Right Place

Hope Returns is a story of corrupt politics, deceit, revenge and attempted murder. It’s a story of an adopted child, Hope, meeting her birth-mother, as well as hearing about her birth-father. Most of all, Hope Returns is a story of forgiveness and restoration. This is a moving sequel to Wall of Silence. I highly recommend this book.

An Eye Opening Story of Lives Changed and Second Chances

Just finished "Hope Returns" by Dorey Whittaker. So wonderful to see hopelessness, fear and disfunction completely transformed through God's love and power when lives are surrendered to Him. No matter what anyone may be going through there is always hope. This book is a great read for anyone, whether in the midst of experiencing the hopelessness of life, or just wanting to capture a heartwarming story of much wisdom and love. Can't wait to read book three!
