A Good, Clean, Edge of Your Seat Romance Mystery...

Author Carol Post has once again given us a wonderful new romantic suspense novel to add to the Love Inspired series of books put out by Harlequin. Mistletoe Justice is the third in Post's Cedar Key series and is a welcome addition filled with heartwarming, realistic characters, a good plot, a little romance and plenty of suspense.
Our heroine Darci Tucker is a wonderful and loving mother with a special needs child and a job that she thought she enjoyed... that is until she overhears something she shouldn't when she returns to work one night to retrieve her phone. Before she knows it, Darci is caught up in a web of deceit as her boss sets her up to take the fall and suddenly her choices are limited... she has to get to the bottom of whatever illegal activity is going on before she "disappears" like the last bookkeeper or be thrown in jail for a crime she didn't commit.
Conner Stevenson is determined to find out what happen to his sister who mysteriously disappeared, leaving her seven year old son Kyle for him to raise until his parents can take him. A confirmed bachelor, Conner doesn't think he is father material but when he teams up with the lovely Darci to try and get to the bottom of the mystery, he finds himself attracted to both her and her very special son. Darci's strong faith, her reliance on God and her ability to handle whatever is thrown at her impresses Conner and makes him start dreaming about things he never thought possible. But with the boss closing in on both of them, things are about to get dangerous and it's all Conner and Darci can do to keep the boys safe and stay one step ahead of some serious trouble.
A fast paced, engaging story filled with appealing characters, a solid plot and a refreshing lack of sex and profanity, Mistletoe Justice is a classic example of a great Christmas story with the perfect balance of tender romance, mystery and edge of your seat suspense. I read it one sitting and I'm already looking forward to Post's next trip back to Cedar Key. I for one will be going along for the ride! Five Stars!

Action Packed Story

Carol Post has become one of my favorite romantic suspense authors. In her newest book, she delivers a powerful story that will grip you from the start. Get ready for a ride that you will never forget in this super charged action packed book.
Darci Tucker has found a new job at a company working in accounting. She really likes her job and the medical insurance it provides. Her son is autistic and with the insurance she is able to get him the care he needs. Her quaint and stable life is about to turn ugly when she discovers that she is being set up for embezzlement. Who is behind this plot to make her the fall guy?
Conner works at the same company as Darci, and has an agenda of his own. It seems while his sister worked for the company, she disappeared without a trace leaving behind a son. Did she find out something about the company that put her in danger? I loved when Darci tells Conner, "We can always find something to be thankful for if we look hard enough." Even in the midst of turmoil, Darci is able to rely on her faith and trust that something good will come to those that believe.
When Darci and Conner team up to uncover the mystery they find themselves in danger. Someone wants to keep them silent and the story takes off on a thrill ride of twists and turns. Someone from Darci's past shows up to cause chaos. Who is this person and why do they want revenge? The book is very well written with dynamic characters that add depth to the story. Carol knows how to weave a story that makes you heart race as she cleverly makes the story come to life with vivid details. The ending is a powder keg of action that will have you guessing till the end. This is a must read for all fans of romantic suspense and those looking for a great story of greed , deception and trust.

Saving Life and Love

This two-hundred-and-twenty-four-page pocket-sized paperback targets those who enjoy inspirational suspense with romance. With no profanity or sexual content, topics of physical abuse and murder may not be appropriate for immature readers. The book promotes Christian theology of praying to God for help and guidance. An author’s notes and two inserts of other Love Inspired series books are at the end.
In this current-day short story based in Cedar Key, Florida, twenty-six-year-old Darci Tucker does not mind her job; it is her boss that frightens her. Believing she is being set up for embezzling from the company, she befriends Connor Stevenson, an equipment mechanic who works with her. Although her focus is on her four-year-old special needs son, she purposefully leaves little time for romance.
Connor, brokenhearted that his sister who worked was Darci’s predecessor has been missing, has been taking care of his seven-year-old nephew but is attracted to Darci and willing to help uncover why Darci is now being targeted. The couple try to stay one step ahead of the boss and his underhanded ways to clear Darci’s name before she is arrested.

The fast-reading tale has many engaging players who may or not be out for Darci’s protection as the two protagonists try to find out what their boss is hiding and why. With Darci’s ex-husband vying for her attention, the story shows how a mother feels conflicted when it involves her son.

Having a couple of twists in the plot, the storyline is predictable as far as the romantic relationship between two people developes.

Author of six novels, Post lives in Florida, writing fun, fast-paced inspirational romantic suspense novels. With her family not living close by, she enjoys sailing, hiking, camping, and taking care of her beloved pets.

With Christmas vaguely being mentioned, the tale does not fit accurately with the book’s title. I wish the title was related instead to employment, revenge, or finding the truth regarding people.
