Every Girl is a True Queen!

Ms. Mesler's done it again! Brave and strong, her beliefs are personified in her heroine. We watch Ermengarde go from the textbook definition of a Princess, someone living for everyone's expectations,to a true Queen: formidable and fearless. Ermengarde's transit from Princess to Queen happens long before she trades tiara for crown. The story sends an enlightening, encouraging, and emboldening message to girls: "to thine own self be true!"

A fairy tale?! I have never been a fan of the frail princesses of lore, but Ermengarde is no dainty flower. A big beautiful woman with a mind of her own...a princess we can hold up to our daughters as a role model!

The writing is passable, but the hard copy of the book's layout and format is so messed up and confusing, I don't know what to say. This was clearly only intended to be an ebook.

Auras. Fact or fiction.

Years ago, I met a colleague for a meeting at her house. It was a sunny afternoon so we conducted our meeting in her backyard. The phone rang so she ran inside to answer it. It was relaxing so I closed my eyes. I hear her come back so I slowly open my eyes and colors were everywhere. At the time I didn't think anything of it other than the sun playing with my eyes. My friend called the other day and reminded me of that afternoon. Now I want to know more about auras. This book provided some insight, but seems too short. Regardless, it's still an informative read. Hopefully, the author will release more chapters.

This was a very interesting read! The book was very well written and very informative on everything you would want to know about auras. I bought this book just wanting to read an interesting book and this book definitely delivered. What I found that was most interesting was that there are different auras in different cultures and countries, all with different meanings. It was so fascinating to learn how auras develop and what makes them last so long for periods of time. Very good read.

I thought that this book was overall very good. The beginning was a bit slow and contained quite a few unfamiliar terms and (for me) difficult to pronounce names. However, by the time I was 1/3 of the way through the book, I was hooked. As the action built, the story kept getting better and better. There were a few twists I did not expect in the story and those were very fun. Overall, I would recommend this book to a friend, especially someone who is interested in religious fiction. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because there were a handful of spelling and grammar errors throughout the book. However, you could still understand what the author was trying to say.

This book is hot

I received this book for an honest review and am so happy I did. This book is hot. A beauty and the beast with a twist. He sure knows how to heat her up. Then the Dragon and a princess. She helps him break the spell he is under and become a wonderful man. Then you have the princesses who are each going to tell you an amazing story that is sure to make you tingle all over. Have you wondered about red riding hood and the wolf? How about some magic pills for jack that will keep his stalk growing and growing? There is so much hotness in this book you are definitely gonna need to rethink all those fairy tales.

Fun adult twist on well known fairy tales

What a fun twist on the well known fairy tales of our childhood. Three stories filled with comical and sarcastic wit, unique and interesting versions of the characters and some grown up heat . I have always felt that fairy tales had a dark undercurrent as there was always a witch, a hunter, an evil queen or other villain trying to kill or harm the main good character. Ms. Kelly has given us an unconventional retelling of these tales but added a spin making them more fun, humorous and a little bit on the sexual side lifting the dark overhang for me. I enjoyed the colorful storyline and laughed out loud many times from the commentary. This was fun afternoon read.

Steamy!

This is my first book by these authors, so I didn’t know what to expect, especially since this book was a spin on “fairy tales”. What I found were three short stories full of satire, whit, and steamy story lines.

I enjoyed the characters and plots in each story, as well as the jokes and humor thrown in to each one. This book is not meant to be for deep reading; to me it was just something relaxing that you didn’t have to concentrate on. These are definitely grown up bedtime stories! Also, I just have to say, I will never look at the Disney Princesses the same again. 

About the Author

Ute Stalford knows firsthand the radical life transformation that occurs when you open up to God’s grace, truth, and love. For over thirty-five years, she has been administering the healing word of God through teaching, speaking at retreats and special events, mentoring, counseling, and as director of women’s ministries.

Stalford and her husband, Harold, a professor at the University of Oklahoma, live in Norman. The couple is blessed with a blended family of five children and thirteen grandchildren.

Good, Biblical advice, made relevant for the layman

Great book, easy to understand, no "mumbo-jumbo." Just down-to-earth good advice for living a godly life. Ute Stalford takes Scripture at face value and brings it alive for the reader. She explains the good life the reader can have by taking the Bible's wisdom to heart! A wonderful book!

Enjoyable but not a horror tale

Several stories within a story, so this book sometimes feels long. However, the characters are engaging as are the subplots. I would rather have more about the werewolf, but the author treats him just like another character. The book must be read with an understanding that the author's views and style are from the mid 1800's.

There's just not enough werewolf to justify calling it "Wagner the Werewolf". Unlike Dracula, who also remains hidden in much of his tale, Wagner does not leave a menacing presence when away. With the exception of the surprisingly sympathetic portrayal of a Jewish moneylender the characters are not really people the reader can like, Wagner himself made a deal with Satan's slave to regain his youth, the woman he loves murdered an imagined rival and had her brother's love turned over to a convent straight out of Lewis' "The Monk", there are also assorted thieves, liars and opportunists throughout. Despite the flaws it is a fairly quick read and is far from deserving to be called a "penny dreadful".

Significant but Overlooked Work of the Gothic Tradition

A fabulous Gothic novel that deserves far more recognition than it has received. Not only is there a werewolf, but Faust and Christian Rosencreutz, founder of the Rosicrucians, makes an appearance. This book is a significant document in the history of Gothic fiction and provides a bridge from the Rosicrucian novel and the Gothic origins to later works like Dracula. If I ever update my book The Gothic Wanderer, I will include a chapter on it.

I really loved this mermaid story by Renee Pace

I really loved this mermaid story by Renee Pace. I haven't read a story like this in...well, ever actually. I love the strong heroine, her struggles to deal with all that has been thrown at her, and I think she will be very identifiable to teens, even though this is mermaid literature. I really hope there is more in this series. The writing was fantastic, the characters believable and I would highly recommend this book! Well done, Ms. Pace!

Kick butt teen heroine in a world gone crazy...

This was the first installment of a story about a teen girl discovering everything she thought she knew about her family, her home, her past, was wrong. I really like the way she tries to deal with it all - school, boys, drowning and becoming something unreal. The girl has some attitude, and some serious backbone - loved her! I can't wait to read the next part!

A beautiful short story

Short but great writing; enjoyable and will appeal to dark fantasy lovers or anyone who appreciates mermaid literature - which seem to be coming into fashion. Teens will easily identify with the main character and her struggles and fears; as well as her desire to find a more meaningful and magical existence.
