Christian Historical Fiction At It's Best

Melody makes an impressive début as a first time author. The Whitcomb family will find their way into your heart. All of the family members are well developed so that you see the individuality of each one. (Zeke is my favorite). Sarah is amazing, she can seem too good to be true at times, but her decisions provide example after example of a trust in the Lord that I would like to emulate.
Being from Wabash county myself, I loved the references to the area I grew up in and felt a common bond to the characters. I must admit that I gasped at the conclusion of this book. I didn't see that coming. I am anxiously awaiting the sequel.

Excellent first book!

What a beautiful story of faith and its manifestations in the lives of the Whitcomb family. So much happens in a short time but you get a good feel for the many characters intertwined in the story. Sarah's personal relationship with God is moving and shows an insight to God's love that must come from the author's own relationship with her Creator. I can't wait for book two!
